Medical Care

Hope’s medical clinics provide free primary care to uninsured and under-insured patients. Last year, there were more than 3,300 patient visits between our two clinics. Medical services are provided almost entirely by our dedicated clinical volunteers.

Donations and grants enable us to provide certain medications to our patients, onsite and at no cost. In 2017 we provided over $810,000 worth of medically necessary prescriptions. Hope works directly with pharmaceutical companies’ Medication Assistance Programs to obtain free medication for patients that qualify financially.

Many patients receive care from our network of specialty care providers. Patients are seen at Hope and at our clinical partner locations and area hospitals. Area hospitals partner with Hope to provide discounted lab and radiology services for qualified patients enabling us to closely monitor chronic medical conditions.

Hegira Programs, Inc. conducts S-BIRT assessments at both clinics, screening for substance use, depression and anxiety. Behavioral health is available on a limited basis.

Care and Prayer

We do everything in our power to make it possible for each client to receive basic needs, by offering support and connecting clients with necessary resources within the community.

Our mission is to provide compassionate and practical help to those with needs, while ministering to them with care, dignity and respect; we help each individual…to give them Hope.

SOCIAL WORK

A few of the services offered through the Social Work Department at Hope Center include:

  •  Compassionate support and patient advocacy.
  • Assistance with financial resources such as legal ID, clothes vouchers, prescription copays and bus tokens.
  • Counseling, support groups and referrals for behavioral health services
  • Financial support for legal ID and bus token for medical appointments
  • Aid with online applications for health insurance and other entitlement programs.
  • Connecting clients with outside resources within the community

The Social Work Department also works to serve the community by hosting a series of special events, such as our Backpack Give-Away Program in August, our Get Fit Club in March and the Christmas Adopt-A-Family in December -- as well as fun events for men and women (Game Night) --and support groups for depression, anxiety, grief starting in 2019. Sign Up sheets are available for each event. Participants can sign up at the reception desk.  A few services require proof of family size.

We do everything in our power to make it possible for each client to receive basic needs, by offering support and connecting clients with necessary resources within the community.

We know these aren’t “small things” but rather the kind of resources that can truly empower clients in managing their day-to-day practical needs. It helps clients better stretch their resources, and that can make the difference in being able to thrive beyond just keeping up with the day-to-day.
