Baby Essentials Party

Hope Clinic's Diaper Pantry provides new & experienced parents with much-needed expensive supplies such as diapers, wipes, and formula.

You can help provide these items by hosting an off-site party for baby essentials and aid in Hope’s mission of maintaining a haven of health and generosity.

This project can be hosted anywhere (great locations may include your home, church, or a community center such as a park) and it is appropriate for all ages.

HOW TO HOST A BABY ESSENTIALS PARTY

1. Decide on a suitable date & location (holidays, weekends, seasonal breaks, or over the summer may work the best!)

2. Brainstorm a guest list of 10-20 compassionate people to invite (family, coworkers, friends, and church members are good places to start!)

3. Send guest invitations with a wish list, which should ideally include the following items:

  • Diapers, with larger sizes (5 & 6) being of the highest imperative (we also accept open packages)

  • Baby Wipes (Meijer Fragrance Free is a good choice)

  • Baby Formula Cans (examples include brands such as Similac®, Enfamil, or Care A2+)

  • Baby Food Jars & Shakes (Gerber® & PediaSure® are great choices)

*Guests do not need to bring all of these items and can choose to bring anything from this list as appropriate. However, encourage them to bring diapers, especially for the next step!

4. Tell everyone to bring their supplies unwrapped & prepare a diaper wrapping activity. Integrate diaper packing (shown below) within the party by supplying saran wrap and printing out copies of the “Hope Clinic Diaper Size Labels” pdf, preferably using colored paper that corresponds with the appropriate size (denoted on the first page).

*There is a YouTube video below from our Diaper Pantry Captain Leah demonstrating how to wrap the diapers into packages that we can then instantly distribute to those that need it! An example of the finished product is also located below.

5. Host a fun party! Bring refreshments, plan out exciting games, and greet your guests in any creative way you desire. This project is meant to both raise supplies for disadvantaged parents that find Hope Clinic and to create a memorable, pleasant experience for those involved. So celebrate the joy of giving to others in an exciting way!

6. Drop off appropriately-wrapped diaper packages & other unwrapped baby supplies at Hope’s front desk. Preferred drop-off hours are between 9:00am-4:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays (we will still accept donations on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturday mornings when we’re open, but we have fewer volunteers at those times). Upon arrival, call (734) 484-2989 or ring the doorbell and a volunteer/staff member will process your donation. We will provide them to those that need it during our Diaper Pantry Services.
